How to get from the airport to the city centre

From the Bucharest Henri Coanda (Otopeni) International Airport to the city center

There are two main ways of getting from the airport to the city center: taking the bus and taking the taxi.

 1.      Taxi

The taxi waiting area is located just in front of the exit from the International Arrivals terminal. Show the driver the address and the name of the hotel and make sure that he starts the meter. Generally, the taxi fare to the city center is about 70 RON (approximately 20 EUR) and the drive takes about 30-40 minutes. However, during the rush hour it may take longer.

It is very important to refuse anyone that approaches you inside the terminal and offers you transportation into the city!!!

 2.      Bus

The 783 Express line connects Bucharest Henri Coanda International Airport with the city center (about 45 minutes). Please make sure that you do not take the 780 line that goes to the North Railway Station!

05:30-20:00 (every 15 minutes)

20:30-23:00 (every 30 minute)

Saturday, Sunday and legal holidays

Bus stop
From the International Arrivals terminal (2nd floor) go down one floor and exit the airport building. The bus stop is just in front of the airport building exit.

The ticket-vending booth is located on the right side as you exit the airport building (daily schedule: 06:00-21:00). The ticket is a magnetic card valid for two rides and it costs 8.6 RON (approximately 2 EUR).

Please purchase the ticket before you get on the bus and validate it as soon as you get on the bus. A beep sound means that the ticket has been validated, two beep sounds means that an error has occurred. You cannot purchase the ticket from the driver and you risk a 50 RON (approximately 12 EUR) fine if you do not validate your ticket!
